In February 2026, Liu Jianguo—secretary-general of the Investment Casting Branch of the China Foundry Association and executive deputy editor-in-chief of Foundry Engineering—visited Cprint 3D in Foshan. The group reviewed wax-printing equipment, patterns and application samples and discussed how digital patterns can support precision foundries.
Cprint 3D is a nationally recognized high-tech enterprise with a dedicated R&D team, more than ten invention patents filed or granted and core technology in wax-printing equipment and materials.
Equipment and forming workflow
The team explained the workflow from jewelry or industrial CAD review and nesting through wax printing. Build and support wax work together to form complex patterns; the printed pieces still require cleaning, inspection, treeing, shell building, dewaxing and pouring.

Discussion covered fine features, surface finish, build volume, multi-printhead throughput and continuous operation. Demonstration specifications included addressability up to 2,900 × 2,900 × 1,700 dpi, 15 μm layers, 0.12 mm features, vertical build rates up to 6 mm per hour and a 410 × 205 × 157 mm build area. Results depend on the qualified material, geometry and inspection method. Refer to the current 3H-420 page.
The wax-pattern post-processing guide provides additional workflow context.
Investment-casting applications
The samples represented both jewelry and industrial work. Digital wax patterns support mixed jewelry designs and custom batches, while industrial users may apply them to complex surfaces, development iterations and jobs where dedicated wax tooling is difficult to justify.

Both teams emphasized that stable results require equipment, wax, support removal, shell building, dewaxing, pouring and quality inspection to operate as one chain. See investment casting applications.
Continuing industry exchange
Liu Jianguo recognized Cprint 3D’s progress in applying digital and automated methods to traditional lost-wax production. The discussion established topics for future industry, academic and manufacturing collaboration. Cprint 3D will incorporate the feedback into demonstrations, material tests and application support and report specific progress through verified projects.
